An alternative to Webflow
Webflow is the best of the builders: clean code, lots of design control. Still, you keep paying per site and per seat, and you hit limits once you need real functionality.
$14 — $49
per month
$168 — $588
every year again, without ownership
€5
hosting per month, maintenance optional
Indicative prices from Webflow (visual builder with site and workspace plans), checked on 31 August 2026. Site plans from Basic to Business, paid annually in advance, per site. Workspace seats and add-ons come on top of that. Amounts in dollars, as published by Webflow. Always check current rates at webflow.com/pricing.
What Webflow does well
No platform is bad. Webflow has delivered a lot for teams feeling Webflow's licence cost and limits, and that deserves to be said.
- Lots of design freedom without writing code
- Clean output, especially compared to other builders
- CMS collections work nicely for teams
- Strong animations and interactions, without plugins
You pay per site and per seat
Multiple sites or multiple people collaborating, and the cost climbs faster than expected.
The backend stays limited
A client portal, roles, calculations or a real integration require external services on top of that.
Limits in the collections
Item counts, references and fields are capped. As your content grows, you hit that ceiling.
Exporting doesn't solve it
You can export static code, but your CMS stays behind. What you export is a snapshot.
A site that is yours
Built from scratch, in code, with no platform in between. That's not ideology, it's simply cheaper in the long run and faster to use.
You own it
Code, domain and hosting are in your name. Want to move to another provider tomorrow? You just take everything with you.
Copy that's actually yours
No filled-in template sentences. I write the copy based on how you'd explain it to a client, using the words people actually search for.
Fast, even on a mediocre connection
No layer upon layer of scripts. What's there is there because it's needed. You'll notice it in load time and in your Core Web Vitals.
No subscription that keeps running
Hosting here costs five euros a month. Maintenance is optional. You pay for the build once, not every year again.

Switching from Webflow
Can my Webflow design be carried over exactly?
Yes, that's almost always possible. In practice we use it as a starting point and sharpen whatever doesn't work.
What about my CMS collections?
You export those as CSV and we convert them to the new structure, with the same URLs.
Can functionality be added that didn't work in Webflow?
That's usually exactly why people switch. Login, roles, dashboards and integrations are just a normal part of the build here.
Do I get the same animations?
Yes, and usually smoother, because there's less that needs to load alongside them.
More general questions are in the FAQ.
Coming from something else?
The same story applies to most platforms. Pick what you use now.
