Guntro Group
Four websites on one server, from loose pieces into a single whole.
The challenge
Guntro wraps cars, letters vans and fits out commercial vehicles. Alongside that run three offshoots under the same roof: Wrapdesign for the projects, Publi-Trailer for advertising trailers and Vuurwerktekoop for the end-of-year season.
Technically those four sat side by side on the same server, but they looked nothing like each other. The main page opened with a wall of text nobody got through, the menus each worked differently, navigation broke on mobile, and the folder held years of loose files nobody knew were still in use. There was also no compliant cookie banner, and the error pages were the server's bare defaults.
The approach
First the main site: the long opening text broken into sections, the services in a dropdown, and the image sections alternating left and right so your eye keeps moving. Light and dark mode added, a fixed menu jumping to the sections, and the opening hours compacted with the days merged. The mobile menu was rebuilt from scratch.
Then the same style across Wrapdesign, Publi-Trailer and Vuurwerktekoop, each with its own menu but recognisable as family. The project gallery got a masonry grid with filters and paging, so not every photo loads at once. Clicking a photo enlarges it in place instead of opening the file.
Beyond that: a newsletter block with Mailchimp where the data processing explanation sits in a tooltip rather than bloating the section, real Google reviews, a quote form, a cookie banner and cookie policy that actually hold up, and error pages in the house style.
Under the bonnet everything is tidied. HTML and PHP pulled apart, every script with a header explaining what it does, years of unused files moved to a separate backup folder, and the image folder reorganised so it is clear which upload belongs to which site. There is a document online listing everything that was done, so whoever works on it after me does not have to guess.
The result
Four sites that feel like one brand, work on any device, and whose code can be followed without anyone having to explain it. Visitors see at a glance what Guntro does instead of a page of text, and the project gallery only loads what you are looking at.
