If you've received a quote, an invoice or an email from me recently, you may have noticed a new name: Steirk. Not a new company appearing out of nowhere, no takeover, no new owner. Steirk is the name of my company. Legally it's called Steirk LTD., registered at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

I'd rather write an honest piece about it than have you stumble on it at the bottom of an invoice and wonder what's going on. In this article you'll read where the name comes from, what Steirk stands for, how it relates to ferhat.io and what changes for you if you already work with me.

I'll give you the short answer to that last question right away: in practice, nothing changes. Same point of contact, same way of working. The long answer is below.

Where the name comes from

"Steirk" comes from an expression you won't find in a dictionary: "steirk in wa'k doe". It's Flemish dialect and it simply means "strong in what I do". If you visit steirk.be, that sentence is the first headline you see.

It isn't a slick English name that could have fit a thousand other agencies. A name in dialect says something about where my work comes from: from practice, from conversations with business owners who have no time for detours. It's not a name that tries to hide something or make things look bigger than they are.

At the same time, it's a name that commits you. "Strong in what I do" is a claim, and a claim has to be backed up. Every time again, with every project. That's exactly why I like it: it puts the bar on me, not on the client.

Say what you do, do what you say

The name comes with a motto: "Say what you do, do what you say." It sounds simple, and it is. The hard part is sticking to it.

In practice it means a few concrete things. A quote states clearly what you get and what you don't. A planning is an agreement, not a hopeful estimate. If something doesn't go as planned, you hear it from me, not only when you find out yourself. And if there's something I don't do, I say so, instead of half trying it.

The motto works in two directions. Saying what you do is about clarity towards the outside: you should be able to understand what Steirk offers without wading through vague jargon. Doing what you say is about reliability: what's agreed gets delivered. Together they form the basis on which I want clients to work with me.

What Steirk does

Through Steirk I do what I was already doing, under one clear name. That's four things that often overlap in practice:

  • Websites, webshops and platforms that sell. Not just something that looks good, but something that brings in requests, orders or customers.
  • Sales. A site is a sales channel, and selling is more than a nice homepage. How your offer is worded, how someone moves from interest to contact, it all belongs to it.
  • Business development. Thinking along about where your business can go, which opportunities exist and how to tackle them concretely.
  • Digital ecosystems. The way your site, your systems and your processes connect, so they work together instead of existing side by side.

What makes Steirk different is the starting point. I don't start from a fixed package you have to fit into. I start from what you can spend. Every budget is welcome, and you get honest advice about what delivers the most within that budget. Sometimes honest advice also means: "you don't need this." I'd rather you hear that from me before you invest than find it out yourself afterwards.

That very part, figuring out what you really need before anything gets built, is what strategy and advice is about. It's often the most valuable step, even though at first glance it's the one you see the least of.

Babbel, Plan, Doen, Groeien

On steirk.be I sum up the way I work in four Dutch words: Babbel, Plan, Doen, Groeien. Talk, Plan, Do, Grow. Again deliberately in plain language.

Talk is the conversation. You tell me where you stand and where you want to go, I ask questions until it's clear. Plan is working it out: what's coming, in what order, what it costs and when it's ready. Do is building and executing, visibly and in steps. Grow is what happens after launch: measuring, adjusting, building further on what works.

On ferhat.io you can read the same approach in more detail, spread over five steps. The idea behind it is the same: understand first, then plan, then do, and don't disappear afterwards.

ferhat.io and Steirk: who does what

This may be the question people wonder about most: is ferhat.io going away? No. ferhat.io stays, as a brand of Steirk LTD. It remains the place where you find my portfolio, the services, the prices, the quote tool and this blog.

What changes is the sender of the business side. Invoices, quotes and emails now come from Steirk. The email address for that is ferhat@steirk.be. For the company side there are two sites: steirk.be in Dutch and steirk.com in English.

You can look at it like this:

ferhat.ioSteirk
What it isA brand of Steirk LTD.The company itself
What forPortfolio, services, prices, quote tool, blogInvoices, quotes, emails
Sitesferhat.iosteirk.be (NL), steirk.com (EN)

For you as a client it comes down to this: if you're browsing, comparing packages or putting together a quote, you do that on ferhat.io. If you receive an invoice or an official quote, it says Steirk.

What changes for you

If you already work with me, nothing changes in practice. You have the same point of contact: me. Projects continue in the same way, with the same agreements and the same approach.

What you will notice are a few practical things:

  • New invoices and quotes show Steirk LTD. as the company name, with the address in London.
  • Emails come from ferhat@steirk.be. Feel free to add that address to your contacts, so nothing ends up in your spam folder.
  • If your accountant or your administration needs to update supplier details, now is the time.

If you're unsure about anything, just ask. Better one question too many than an invoice that gets stuck somewhere.

From Belgium to Turkey

There's one more change I want to mention here. Today I work from Belgium. In November 2026 I'm moving to Turkey, and from there I'll keep working for clients in Belgium and beyond.

For the way we work together, that makes little difference. A thirty-minute conversation works just as well over a video call. Build rounds are online anyway, so you can see how your project is progressing at any moment, wherever you are.

What does stay is what the work is about: saying clearly what I do, and doing what I say. That doesn't depend on an address.
